Mohd Jayzuan is a ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ Malaysian performer; musician, author, poet, producer, curator, filmmaker, actor, also publisher. Based in Ipoh and Jakarta, Modh Jayzuan is a multidisciplinary outsider artist and a seasoned figure in South East Asia’s arts, pop culture, and creative movements. His main areas of interest are music, literature, film, collective and youth culture. Since 1995, he has been actively involved in the local underground and counter-culture music scene and has performed throughout Malaysia and abroad, including ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ Singapore, ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉIndonesia, and the ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ Philippines.

In 2008, he made his first foray into film when he acted as the leading actor in an indie film titled โ€˜Konsekuensiโ€™. He produced several documentaries on creative culture in Ipoh. Jayzuan is one of the key figures in the local alternative literary scene. He has published, since 2010, books in a variety of genres, namely, travelogue, non-fiction, novel, and poetry. He was a columnist on arts and culture for a few online portals; mStar, The Daily Seni and PeaceBeUponYou. Throughout his career as a writer, to several literary festivals throughout Malaysia and Indonesia, including the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival in Bali.

Mustering his vast past experience and network, in 2011, together with some friends, he set up Projek Rabak; an artist collective originated from Ipoh. The collective has one objective; to celebrate youth culture in its various form and to groom fresh new talents. Held at selected venues around the city of Ipoh, this week-long multidisciplinary festival involves poetry readings, film screenings, music performances, art exhibitions, experimental show and a series of talks and forums on arts, culture and creative industries
